The event will talk about the lives of courtesans beyond the Heeramandi TV series. The historical talk will be conducted by Ms Anoushka Jain, founder of Enroute Indian History. Her forthcoming book on Tawaifs with Penguin India provides a rich, deep insight into the world of tawaifs in Delhi. Tawaifs such as Ad Begum used to dance naked, but the Nakashi on her body was such that it seemed otherwise. Another tawaif was Nur Bai, who refused to accompany Nadir Shah. Hear such stories and anecdotes at the talk with audio visuals.

Amaltas, an exquisite and unique café located in GK-II, offers a warm and inviting setting perfect for our event. Enroute to Indian History, Kati Patang and Amaltas co-host this special occasion. The café will be exclusively reserved for participants, providing an intimate atmosphere for the talk, which will be presented using a projector.
